Lee Roy Wheeler, Jr., 68, of Kent, Washington passed away Monday, November 15, 2004, at Weatherly Inn Assisted Living in Kent, Washington. A graveside funeral service was held for Mr. Wheeler at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where he was laid to rest. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe officiated. A funeral service was held at Marlett Funeral Home in Kent, Washington on Wednesday, November 17, 2004.
Born May 28, 1936, in Tift County, Mr. Wheeler was the son of the late Lee Roy Wheeler, Sr. and Clara Mae Kendrick Wheeler. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Larry "Buck" Wheeler. He moved to Kent, Washington from Kennesaw in 1978 and was formerly an electrical engineer with the Boeing Company. He retired in 1998 after 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army and an electrical engineering graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by his wife of 38 years, Edith Mirna Bonomi Wheeler of Kent, Washington; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ezio and Heidi Wheeler of Huntsville, Alabama and Larry Wheeler of Kent, Washington; one daughter and son-in-law, Clarissa and David Thomas of Corvalis, Oregon; and one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Bill and Ginger Wheeler of Tifton.
