Bertie Jean McMillan Wright, 57, of Ray City passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Ronnie Luke and the Rev. Harvey Nichols officiating. Mrs. Wright was laid to rest at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Enigma.
Shaun Harris, Tony Maton, Tim McMillan, Daniel McMillan, Matthew McDonald and Roger Bowling served as pallbearers. Simon McDonald was an honorary pallbearer.
Born April 4, 1947, in Tift County, Mrs. Wright was the daughter of the late, H. d. McMillan and Thelma Boykin McMillan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wright. She was a homemaker; and she was of the Church of God faith.
Mrs. Wright is survived by two sons, Earl Wayne Register, Jr. and Bill Register, both of Okeechobee, Florida; one daughter, Melinda Register of Okeechobee, Florida; two brothers, Thomas McMillan of Omega and Grady Lee McMillan of Enigma; five sisters, Brenda Giddens and Patricia Ann Harris, both of Enigma, Linda Sue McDonald of Pearson, Shirley Maton of Tifton and Sara E. Smith of Fitzgerald; three grandchildren; a special friends, Richard Coleman of Lakeland; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends.
