Raymond Carlton Wilson, 57, of Ty Ty passed away Sunday, March 28, 2004, at the V. A. Medical Center in Dublin. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Mr. Wilson was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Jerry White, Mike Wilson, Richey Burdette, Lavon Summerlin, Donnie Wilson, Tim Copeland, Greg Moore and Rusty Wilson served as pallbearers.
Born August 31, 2004, in Tifton, Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Hobart M. Wilson and Hattie Yates Wilson. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Wilson. Before retiring, he was a supervisor at Winn Dixie in Tifton; and he was a member of Chula Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Jennifer Copeland Wilson of Ty Ty; one son, Ray Wilson of Tifton; one daughter, Haley Fitzgerald of Tifton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Hazel Wilson of Norman Park, Emerson and Dot Wilson of Tifton and Wallace and Latrelle Wilson of Omega; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Wilson of Tifton; six sisters and three brothers-in-law, Emogene and Henry Burdette and Doris Casey, all of Ty Ty, Virginia Beasley and Laverne Willis, both of Tifton; Mary and Willy Williams of Moultrie and Carolyn and Philip Bates of Albany; two grandchildren, Trip Fitzgerald and Callie Fitzgerald, both of Tifton; his special friends, Bill and Ann McDaniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
