Ruth Geraldine Coker White, 71, of Tifton passed away Saturday, November 13, 2004, at her residence. A graveside funeral service was held for Mrs. White at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she was laid to rest. The Rev. Jerry Lillard and the Rev. Jay Roberson officiated.
Born April 27, 1933, in Tift County, Mrs. White was the daughter of the late Walter Lewis Coker and Lilly Florence Underwood Coker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marlin J. White, who passed away in 1979 and who she married in 1954; two sisters, Marie Griffin and Louise Montgomery; two brothers, Lewis Coker and Johnny Coker; and two step-brothers, J. W. Luke and Marvin Luke. She retired from Horizon Industries in Tifton, which was formerly J. P. Stevens in Tifton; and she was a member of Omega Baptist Church.
Mrs. White is survived by one son, Darren White of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Jo and Mike Grimes of Tifton; one sister, Betty Lawrence of Green Cove Springs, Florida; one step-sister, Melba O'Neal of Tifton; and four grandchildren, Sean White, Sadie White, Hannah Grimes and Gene Grimes.
