Obituary

Agnes C. (Baxter) Ronayne, 95, of Worcester, died Saturday, March 16th at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves three sons, Michael L. Ronayne and his wife, Michelle of Sterling, Jack Ronayne and his partner, Michelle Leger of North Grafton, and Paul K. Ronayne and his wife, Cherie of Worcester; six grandchildren, Melissa Bobolia, who was raised like a daughter to Agnes, Rachel Twomey, Robert Ronayne, Aidan Ronayne, Eli Cutler, and Cody Cutler; eight great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and the twins. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Lawrence A. Ronayne, Jr.; and six siblings, Lloyd Baxter, Jr., Robert Baxter, Barbara Lanciault, Mary Shead, Virginia Rand, and Walter Baxter.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Lloyd Baxter, Sr. and Anne (Quinlan) Baxter. Agnes graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1945 and did secretarial work at Crompton and Knowles Loom Works for seven years and then Worcester Public Schools, retiring after 23 years. Agnes was a devout member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and would volunteer at various events and Bingo nights. She was also a member of the Retired State, County and Municipal Employees Association. She enjoyed visiting Foxwoods and playing Cribbage and other card and word games with a competitive intensity against family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. She was very loved and will be deeply missed.

Her funeral is Friday, March 22nd from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Her calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m. in the funeral home.
