Obituary

Mary Evelyn Pelletier passed away peacefully Thursday, March 14 at the age of 98. She was a former resident of Franklin and a longtime resident of Plainville for 49 years. Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Norman “Red” Pelletier who died in 2007.

Born February 11, 1926 in Pawtucket, RI. She was daughter of the late Joseph V. Duckworth and Elizabeth (Blezard) Duckworth and stepdaughter of the late Julia (Mc Cluskey) Duckworth. Evelyn was also the loving sister of the late Elizabeth Bessette.

Evelyn retired as bookkeeper from the Plainville Stock Company in the early 1990’s after more than 30 years. She loved to travel and spend time by the ocean. Her summers were often spent camping with friends and enjoying a daily happy hour. She enjoyed music, dancing, and would always be found on the dance floor.

In addition to the love of her life, Norman, Evelyn was the devoted mother of the late Robert Pelletier and his wife Elizabeth of Newmarket, NH and Sandra Daigneault and her late husband, Richard of Franklin, MA. She was the loving grandmother, known to all as Bami, of Lindsay Valarezo and her husband Christopher of Framingham, MA and Michelle Daigneault of Franklin, MA. Her greatest joy in life was being great-grandmother of Lily and Lucas Valarezo. Evelyn also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Family was the most important part of Evelyn’s life and she took such great pride in it.

In addition to her family, Evelyn filled her life with lasting friendships. She was happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved. She truly was the life of the party and aways lit up the room with her love and laughter.

Thank you to the caring staff of Madonna Manor in North Attleboro, who took such wonderful care of Evelyn over the past year.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Wednesday, March 27 at 10:00am at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin. Burial will follow in the family lot in Plainville Cemetery, West Bacon St.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be sent to the National Marrow Donor Program https://bethematch.org/
