WEBSTER – Donald T. Meagher, 80, of 143 Lake St., died Tuesday, July 11, in the Hospice at Coes Pond, Worcester. His wife of 27 years, Marie A. (O’Neill) Meagher, died in 1994.
He leaves a son, David T. Meagher and his wife Lyn of Webster; 2 daughters, Marilyn E. Kokocinski and her husband John of Webster, MA and Donna E. Lagano and her husband Larry of Oakley, CA; 2 brothers, Thomas F. Meagher of Webster and Gerald Meagher of Southbridge; 9 grandchildren, Carley, Jesse, Keri, Kelley, John, Shana, Lauren, Kallie and Joseph; 5 great grandchildren; his best friend and companion, Theresa “Tess” Jakubowski of Oxford; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel B. Meagher, and by his 2 sisters, Joan Meagher and Kathleen Beaulac.
He was born in Dudley, the son of Thomas B. and Loretta (Barrett) Meagher. He lived in Dudley, Webster and then Thompson, CT for over 20 years, returning here in 2000. He graduated from St. Louis High School.
Mr. Meagher was an insurance salesman for the John Hancock Life Insurance Company, first at their Southbridge office, and then at their Dudley office, retiring in 1987 after 30 years with the company.
The funeral will be held Saturday, July 15, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Louis Church, 14 Lake St. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, July 14, at the funeral home. Donations in his name may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608
