Jane Ann ‘Janey’ (Moron) Garrity
DRACUT Jane Ann ‘Janey’ (Moron) Garrity, 91 of Dracut, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at D’Youville Senior Healthcare Center. She was born on May 16, 1932 in Lowell and was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Joanna (Wojcik) Moron.
She was raised in Lowell, attending local schools and graduating from Lowell High School with the Class of 1950. Janey dedicated over 30 years of her life as a switchboard receptionist for the Lowell Sun, retiring in 2007. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Polish Church and also participated in the PAV Ladies Auxiliary Polish American Veterans. Janey's outgoing personality shone through her love for music and dancing. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, cherished by her family.
Janey is survived by her two children, Michael E. Garrity of Dracut, and Linda A. Garrity of Dracut; her grandson, Derek J. Reiss of New Hampshire; and her close family friend, Bill Drenas of Dracut.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter in law, the late Kathleen C. Garrity; and her former husband the late Edward L. Garrity, Jr..
At her request, funeral services were held privately.
