Obituary


John LaMonica, age 86, of Burlington formerly of Everett, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington. He was the beloved husband for 56 years of Carol (Domigan) LaMonica. Born in Everett he was one of five children of the late Antonio and Emma Gennie (Crisafi) LaMonica.

John was raised and educated in Everett and was a 1955 graduate of Everett High School. During his senior year of high school, John enlisted in the United States Army and proudly and honorably served his country during the Vietnam Era from 1955 to 1959 and completed his reserve duty in 1962. When he returned home from the service, he began his career in construction and married the love of his life, Carol, on December 3, 1967. John owned and operated Burlington Window and Door for many years and for the past thirty years he worked as a most trusted and knowledgeable sales associate for Home Depot. In his leisure time he enjoyed playing pool and tennis. However, his greatest joy was his family and nothing made him happier than to be spending time with them and vacationing, taking many trips to Disney World in Florida creating countless wonderful memories together. John also loved animals and over the years he loved caring for his pet dogs.

In addition to his beloved wife Carol, John is survived by his son, Eric LaMonica of Burlington. He was the loving grandfather of Natasha, Sascha, and Corwin LaMonica. Cherished brother of Roseann Gill of Everett, Joseph LaMonica and his wife Elaine of Everett, the late Eda Ruggierio, and Anthony LaMonica.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial prayer service at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Friday, March 15th, at 11 a.m. and may visit with the family prior to the service from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will conclude with Military Honors. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers charitable contributions may be made in John's memory to MSPCA-Angell, Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
