The Rev. Julius Frances Risher, Jr., 75, of Tifton passed away Friday, August 13, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Billy F. Hall and the Rev. Robert Beggs officiating. Mr. Risher was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Corkey Price, Robert Price, Jason Price, Chris Smith, Larry Massey and Shane Calitine served as casket bearers.
Born August 30, 1928, in Walterbrough (Colleton County), South Carolina, Rev. Risher was the son of the late Julius Frances Risher, Sr. and Della Hiott Risher. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. He was a retired minister, a retired barber, and he attended Four Square Pentecostal Church in Tifton. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Rev. Risher is survived by his wife, Lonnie Pearl Myers Evans Risher of Tifton; one step-son, Mark Evans of Tifton; one daughter, Nancy Smith of Holly Hill, South Carolina; one sister, Gladys Boatwright of South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Yvonne Noller, Christopher Smith, Renee Wood, Candace Evans, Carla Evans, Dustin Evans and Crissie Horne; and two great-grandchildren, Devon Noller and Dustin Noller.
