Ruby Ray Harris Pearson, 74, of Ashburn passed away Thursday, May 27, 2004, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, 0, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Mike McPherson, the Rev. Mark Swain and the Rev. A. D. Connell officiating. Mrs. Pearson was laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery.
Mrs. Pearson's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Born June 9, 1929, in Blue Ridge, Virginia, Mrs. Pearson was the daughter of the late Tom Ray and Easter Nelson Ray. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Daniel "J. D." Harris, who passed away in 1984; two brothers' and three sisters. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Berrien County.
Mrs. Pearson is survived by her husband, Frank Pearson of Ashburn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky Austin and Nannette Harris of Ashburn and James Austin and Mary Harris of Irwin County; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Mildred Marjorie and James Mobley of Brookfield, Mary Frances Harris of Omega, Joyce and R. H. Warren of Nashville and Mayo Marie and Roger Stephens of Lenox; one sister, Mary Wood of West Berrien Community; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
