Obituary

Frank Forest Grover, Jr., 93 years young, of Norfolk, Massachusetts passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

Born in Framingham, Massachusetts on December 28, 1930, he was the son of the late Frank F. Grover, Sr. and Florence S. (Benoit) Grover. He was raised in Natick, Massachusetts and went to Natick High School Class of 1949.

Frank was known for being strong willed and living life on his own terms. He also had an enormous love for his family, close friends, and a wonderful sense of humor. He was charismatic, quite entertaining and driven; clever and full of knowledge gained from his life experiences as a landscaper, mechanic, HVAC serviceman and ultimately a union foreman. For a man of smaller stature, he was stronger than most in many ways, physically and beyond. His hand grip to the end would bring you to your knees. He could fix or build anything and was an avid golfer.

Beloved companion of Shirley Berg of Franklin, they spent the last eleven years enjoying drives along country roads, visiting with friends and family, and not missing any good ice cream spots. He was the loving father of his one and only daughter, Deborah Grover and her partner, Robert Shannon of Norfolk; the cherished godfather of Ellen Parker, and “grandfather” to Alex and Chris.

Frank aka “Brother” was the big brother of Jean Lynch of Natick, and the late Janet Pelletier, Joan McCann and Paul Grover. He was fun-loving and will be remembered by all of his nieces and nephews for always upping the bar on any game of horseshoes or other shenanigans. Years growing up on the lake and family cookouts were the mainstay of our early lives together. These memories are cherished by all of us.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Benchmark Senior Living at Forge Hill, Sunshine Fund, 4 Forge Hill Road, Franklin, Massachusetts, 02038.

Frank’s family is grateful for the dedicated staff who provided Frank with respect, dignity, joy and care during his years at Forge Hill and his last months on hospice at Alliance at Maples in Wrentham. A special thanks goes out to his nurses along the way from Interventional Radiology at Milford Medical Center, home care, assisted living, hospice and nursing home.
