Obituary

Worcester: Robert W. McCallum, 67, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024 in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after fighting a recent cancer diagnosis. He leaves a son John of Denmark, a daughter Morgan and her partner Bobby, his father John McCallum of Scotland and Worcester; 2 grandchildren - Olivia and Elliot; a brother Alexander and his wife Colleen; a sister - Jane and her husband Brian; and nieces Keri and Adele. He was predeceased by his beloved mother Agnes W. "Vanessa" (Kerr) McCallum.

Bob, as he was affectionately known, was born in Lanark, Scotland. He graduated from South High and Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. He earned a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Boston University. His career was as an IT manager at Raytheon - working in and helping to open several sites. He developed his cooking skills at Salter Culinary School. Most recently he worked as a Security Guard at Mechanics Hall. He enjoyed cooking and eating - especially Scottish cuisine for his family; he was a proud 'Foodie' and liked trying new restaurants and cuisines. His hobbies included: traveling, learning, watching Kung Fu shows, attending sports games, drinking coffee on the front porch, watching funny videos on his phone and spoiling his daughter's Cat with affection and treats. He was most happy attending Broadway Shows and musicals. He was a selfless caregiver for his parents; a dedicated Dad, Brother, Uncle, and Fafa. He was friendly and not shy - chatting with strangers and making friends wherever he went.
