Obituary

Lotus Amelia Snow Lindsey, 90, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2004, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2004, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe, the Rev. Dr. W. Ches Smith III and the Rev. Paul Thomas officiating. Mrs. Lindsey was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Julian Jack Joiner, Edwin Earl Joined, David Wayne Carmichael, Ted Abraham Decker, James Russell Lindsey, Scott Lindsey Dasher, Herbert Cline Childress and Donald Earnest Carmichael served as pallbearers.

Born October 16, 1914, in Hightower (Cleburne County), Alabama, Mrs. Lindsey was the daughter of the late Earl Clifton Snow and Elzie White Snow. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lemmie James Lindsey, who passed away in 1966; and one sister, Catherine Snow Joiner. She was a homemaker and businesswoman; and she was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church. She was also an active member of the Tifton-Tift County Library Board of Trustees and the Coastal Plains Regional Library Board in past years and was instrumental in the acquisition of the current library building. She was a past member of the Advisory Board for the American Banking Company and had been a member of the Primrose Garden Club and the Tifton Woman's Club.

Mrs. Lindsey is survived by one son, Michael J. Lindsey of Tifton; one daughter, Linda Lindsey Norman of Tifton; two sisters, Gwendolyn Snow Carmichael of Tifton and Hildred Snow Fisher of Melbourne, Florida; and one grandson and his wife, Neil Lindsey Norman and Hope Taylor Norman.
