Ethel Hazel O'Quinn Lewis, 90, of Ellabell, formerly of Tifton; passed away Monday, January 19, 2004, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Edwin Dillard and the Rev. Ronny Vice officiating. Mrs. Lewis was laid to rest at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Cook County.
Ben Langley, Michael Turnmire, Pete D. Jaquess, William Cravey, Jerry Cravey, Chris Parks and Roger Aultman served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Ritcher and Junior Lewis.
Born January 18, 1914, in Tifton, Mrs. Lewis was the daughter of the late Willie O'Quinn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marcus William "Red" Lewis; two sons; and one brother, Russell O'Quinn. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Believers Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by three sons, Billy Lewis of Ellabell, Bobby Lewis of Flintstone and Mickey Lewis of Tifton; five daughters, Carolyn Jaquess of Ellabell, Hazel Cravey Mauldin and Opal Turnmire, both of Tifton, Rhonda Lewis Stevens of Tullahoma, Tennessee and Malissa Millions of Fitzgerald; 33 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
