Obituary









Joseph W. “Uncle Buddy” Albanese of Medford passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22nd at Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett. He was 87. A lifelong Medford resident, Joseph was the son of the late Nicola and the late Edith (Cavanaugh) Albanese.

Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was known as “Buddy” or “Uncle Buddy” to his family and friends. As a young man he served his country in the Army during the Vietnam era. After his service, he had a career as a machinist for Jefferson Smurfit and the Container Corporation of America.

The beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Cashman) Albanese, who passed away in 2004, Joseph was the devoted father of Dorothy Donnelly and her late husband David of Everett. He was the loving grandfather of Sandra, Shannon, and David. He was the loving great grandfather of Rileigh, Savannah, Serenity, Gavin, Violet, and Harmony. He was the dear brother of Beverly Balboni, the late Nicholas Albanese and the late Jean Cobb. He is also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, March 2nd from 10 AM-12 Noon, with a prayer service in the funeral home at Noon. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
