Clyde Evans Hobbs, 91, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Tift Health Care. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Tony Register and the Rev. Larry Layfield officiating. Mrs. Hobbs was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Jimmy Hill, Corry Highsmith, Ricky Luke, Evan Hobbs, Jimmy Walker and Clinton Carpenter served as pallbearers.
Born April 16, 1912, in Dodge County, Mrs. Hobbs was the daughter of the late William Charlie Evans and Leila Rowland Evans. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Walker Hobbs; four brothers; and three sisters. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of New River Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Hobbs is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell and Ruth Hobbs of Tifton and Troy and Martha Hobbs of Ashburn; one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Harold Ogletree of Tifton; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
