Eddie R. Poole
June 10, 1937- February 21, 2024
Eddie R. “Shorty” Poole 86, of Middletown, passed away February 21, 2024 at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital.
He was born on June 10, 1937 in Anderson, the son of Obie and Goldie (Lewis) Poole. He was employed as a semi driver for Bestever/ Prarie Farms for 35 years and attended Buck Creek Church of the Brethren. Eddie enjoyed harness racing, boating and camping and was a member of the American Harness Association.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Karen J. (Pope) Poole; two children Scott (Nayleen) Poole and Kim (Bill) Cooper; two step children, Debbie Symmes and Randy (Andy) Hallgarth; daughter-in-law, Melanie Hallgarth; grandchildren, Ryan(Laura) Poole, Cristian (Nathan) Holloway, Ariona (Bailey Hunt) Poole, Shaina (Nick Layman) Poole, Brannon Morgan, Evan, Alan, Jennifer, Kelly, Michael, Stephanie; great grandchildren, Zoey, Gavin, Oliver, Genevieve, Ozzie and several step great grandchildren; siblings, Marjorie Berdusco, Clyde (Darlene) Poole, Essie Poole, Rick Poole; several nieces and nephews; and his special fur buddy, “Skip”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Sally Poole; step son, Eric Hallgarth, great granddaughter, Hollie Hunt; siblings, Ruby Painter, Ruth Ivy, Irene Poole, Ted Poole, Janie Poole, Patsy Hodson.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February, 26, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Rozelle- Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Bronnenberg Cemetery in Chesterfield.
Visistation will also be held on Monday at the funeral home from 12:30- 2:30 PM.
