TEWKSBURY Matthew ‘Matt’ Peterson, 45 of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully after a lifelong battle with cancer on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
He was born on August 25, 1978, in Cambridge and was a son of Philip Peterson of Manchester, NH and Susan Peterson of Billerica, MA. He was raised in Tewksbury where he attended the area schools, graduating from Tewksbury Memorial High School with the class of 1997.
Matt participated in the day program at Valley Collaborative of Billerica, contributing by sorting mail and assisting in manufacturing processes. He tended to keep to himself but displayed a humorous side to those close to him. Matt enjoyed playing video games, watching action movies, listening to classic rock music, and passionately following the Boston sports teams.
Matt is survived by his mother, Susan Peterson of Billerica; his father and stepmother, Philip Peterson and Cindy Caverly of Manchester, NH; two stepbrothers, Evan Caverly of Hudson, NH and Jared Caverly of Northfield NH; as well as several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
On Saturday, March 02, 2024, all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 4 to 6 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury, 978-851-2061. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 6 p.m. after the calling hours.
