Marcell Pate Hasty, 75, of Tifton passed away Friday, October 15, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Chris Ramsey officiating. Mrs. Hasty was laid to rest at Lawrence Cemetery.
Chuck Hill, Tim Hill, Tim Garrick, Kevin Thomas, Charles Thomas and Clark Sumner served as pallbearers.
Born June 17, 1929, in Turner County, Mrs. Hasty was the daughter of the late Addie Lee Pate and Viola Gilbert Pate. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russel Elwood Hasty, who passed away in 1985; and one great-granddaughter, Lea Thomas. Before retiring, she worked for the Manhatten Shirt Company.
Mrs. Hasty is survived by one daughter, Juanita Gray of Tifton; one brother, Leroy Pate of Chatsworth; four sisters, Lorene Booth of Cumming, Burnett Whiddon of Alabama, Elah Gravitt of Ashburn and Odessa Pitts of Florida; four grandchildren, David Dewayne Hill, Becky Hill, Timm Hill and Chuck Hill; six great-grandchildren, Alexander Hill, Emilea Hill, Destiny Hill, Elyssa Hill, Jadie Hill and Josh Hill; and she was grandmother to several adopted grandchildren.
