Berta Broxton Hobbs, 86, of Tifton passed away Friday, April 23, 2004, at Beverly Health Care in Tifton. Her funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, at New Covenant Church with the Rev. Mike Hobbs and the Rev. Mark Holloway officiating. Mrs. Hobbs was laid to rest at Salem Memorial Gardens in Tifton.
Andy Hobbs, Harold Hobbs Jr., Jeremy Hobbs, Matt Hobbs, Ben Hobbs, Fred Barnes and John Brown served as pallbearers.
born October 29, 1917, in Randolph County, Mrs. Hobbs was the daughter of the late Ira Thomas Broxton and Lilly Kleckly Broxton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Ralph Manning Hobbs, who passed away in 1997; three brothers; and two sisters. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Worth County.
Mrs. Hobbs is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Patsy Hobbs of Leesburg and Roger and Marla Hobbs and the Rev. Mike and Gina Hobbs, all of Tifton; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
