Ray Miller Hetzel, 92, of Tifton passed away Friday, May 28, 2004, at Tift Health Care. A memorial service was held for Mrs. Hetzel in Lutherville, Maryland with Joe Sargeant officiating. Mr. Hetzel was laid to rest in Delaney Valley, Maryland.
Born May 1, 1912, in Washington, D. C., Mrs. Hetzel was the son of the late David Norman Miller and Ruby Bowles Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Hayward Hetzel; and three brother, Norman Miller, William Miller and Earl Miller. Before retiring, she was a schoolteacher and taught History for 23 years. During those 23 years, she was the 4-H Club Leader. She had lived in Tifton for ten years. She was a member of Timonium United Methodist Church in Lutherville, Maryland, where she taught Sunday School. She loved to read; and she loved crafts of all kinds.
Mrs. Hetzel is survived by three sons, Dave Hetzel, Glen Hetzel and Don Hetzel; one brother, Glenn Miller; nine grandchildren, who loved to sit for yours and listen to memorable stories of their family.
