Bessie Frances Hancock, 59, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Thomas Carroll Rutland officiating. Ms. Hancock was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Ronnie W. Hall, Jesse W. Hall, William J. Bromlow, James R. Bromlow, Jason R. Singletary and Kyle Webb served as pallbearers.
Born January 26, 1945, in Berrien County, Ms. Hancock was the daughter of the late Ethridge Cawley Hancock and Orlaine Conger Hancock Statham. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Hancock and Cauley Edward Hancock. She was a homemaker; and she of the Baptist faith. She had lived in Tift County most of her life.
Ms. Hancock is survived by three daughters, Tiny Hall Spell and Dorothy Bromlow, both of Lenox and Jackie Hutcheson of Tifton; one sister, Cloise Peters of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Peggy Hancock; eight grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews; and her special friend of 51 years, Faye Tawzer.
