William Arthur Hartsfield, Jr., 75, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Glenn Ford and the Rev. John S. Gibbs, Sr. officiating. Mr. Hartsfield was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hartsfield's grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
Born December 28, 1928, in Irwin County, Mr. Hartsfield was the son of the late William Arthur Hartsfield, Sr. and Nora Howell Hartsfield. He was a retired mechanic; and he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tifton. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Hartsfield is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Folsom Hartsfield of Tifton; three sons, Wayne Hartsfield of Tifton and Wade Hartsfield and Bobby Hartsfield, both of Waycross; two daughters, Mary Ann Smith of Norman Park and Lynn Dupree of Alabama; one brother, Thomas Hartsfield of Albany; three sisters, Joann Norman and Linda Martin, both of Albany and Wanda Moore of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
