Martha Elkins Harrell, 82, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at Tift Health Care. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe and the Rev. Dr. Russ Elkins officiating. Mrs. Harrell was laid to rest at Cairo City Cemetery on Friday, November 12, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
Born July 19, 1922, in Grady County, Mrs. Harrell was the daughter of the late Ivey Elkins and Hattie Brady Elkins. Before retiring, she taught school at Northside Elementary School in Tifton; and she was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Harrell is survived by her husband, Edsel Harrell, Sr., of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Edsel Jr. and Leatha Harrell of Dallas, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Karen and Greg Smith of Saint Simons Island and Debbie Harrell of Nashville, Tennessee; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, David and Mary Catherine Elkins, Billy and Martha Ruth Elkins, Frank and Jean Elkins and Jimmy Elkins, all of Cairo; and five grandchildren, Erin Williamson, Devon Williamson, Flint Harrell, Glenn Harrell and Cliff Harrell
