Obituary

BELL, Patricia A. (Patty) of Norfolk, formerly of Dedham, died suddenly on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Patricia was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph F. and Mary G. Bell.

Patty was a graduate of Boston College Campus School and the Class of 1990 at Dedham High School through their partnership with the LABB Collaborative in Lexington. For all of her adult life Patty was supported by Horace Mann Educational Associates (HMEA) attending their day programs in both Franklin and Bellingham, and living at their Main Street group home.

Patty was a beautiful and gentle soul; a friend to all who knew her. Her infectious laugh would warm the room. Her positive spirit was always on display, despite living with many challenges from her youth. She loved the thrill of adaptive skiing and horseback riding lessons. She enjoyed listing to music, going for car rides, shopping and dancing. She was a special friend to Janet, John, Katie and Robert of Main Street. The family is especially grateful to the staff at Main Street, led by Ken Staples. Their dedication to Patty allowed her to live her best life.

Patty is survived by her sister, Carolyn (Brad) Smith of Boise, Idaho, her brother William (Susan) of Cohasset, nephews Andrew Bell (Boston), Colin Bell (Jamaica Plain). She is also survived by several cousins in both the Bell and O’Neil families.

A graveside service will be held at Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline this spring where she will be interred with her devoted Mom and Dad.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy make a donation to their favorite charity in Patty’s name.
