WORCESTER- Eleanore M. “Sis” (Savage) Larson, 78, of 20 Hope Avenue, died Monday, July 10th, in Millbury Health Care Center. She leaves her husband of 57 years, Alfred Larson; 2 sons, Richard R. Larson and his wife Millie of Charlton, and Paul A. Larson and his wife Christine of Worcester; 2 daughters, Dorothy J. Swenson of Salisbury, NH and Gloria E. Doherty of Worcester; 2 brothers, Edmond Savage of Worcester and Raymond Savage of Elgin, IL; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and nephews and nieces. A daughter, Nancy Marie Larson, a brother, William Savage, 2 sisters, Claire Charbonneau and Maryanne LeFrancios, and a grandson, Eric Swenson predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of William and Blanche (Duquette) Savage and graduated from St. Stephen’s High School. Mrs. Larson was a dietary aide at Memorial Hospital for 34 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish and was the past secretary of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Chester P. Tuttle Post 279 American Legion, Auburn, and was an avid bowler and enjoyed baking.
The funeral is Friday, July 14th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, July 13th, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Millbury Health Care Center, Alzheimer’s Unit, 312 Millbury Avenue, Millbury, MA 01527.
