Robert L. Proulx, 89

Dateline: Norton, MA

Robert L. Proulx, age 89, of Norton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Ellis Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice I. (Boynton) Proulx, to whom he was wed for nearly fifty-five years at the time of her death on September 13, 2019.

Born in Attleboro, MA on February 7, 1935, he was a loving son of the late Louis O. and Alice M. (Johnson) Proulx.

Bob grew up in North Attleboro and was a graduate of North Attleboro High School. He proudly served his country as a member of United States Air Force and later returned to school, graduating from the Rhode Island Trade Shop School with a certificate in auto body repair.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Proulx was a manager at Sysco in Norton, proudly owned and operated Proulx’s Auto Body in Norton and was also employed as a group leader at Texas Instruments in Attleboro.

A resident of Norton for over fifty years, along with his family, he attended the former Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Mansfield and was a longtime member of the Mansfield Lodge of Elks. Bob loved spending time with family and when his son was going up, coached little league baseball in Norton.

He is survived by his devoted children: Lauralyn Clark and her husband Robert of New York, Theresa M. Flaherty and her husband Stephen of Norwood and Robert M. Proulx and his wife Jennifer of Grafton. He was the cherished grandfather of Jesse Brayton of Colorado, Kelly Brayton of Arizona, Katherine Parenti and her husband Jake of Colorado, David Liu and his wife Sarah of Rhode Island, Allie Shrayer of Grafton, Olivia Irene Proulx and the great grandfather of Grayson, Eleanora, Henry and Margaret. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, March 6th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 7th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial, along with military honors, will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.
