Obituary

Judy Louise Pridgen Griffin, 82, of Tifton passed away Sunday, January 4, 2004, at Beverly Health Care in Tifton. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Elder Charles Tyson officiating. Mrs. Griffin was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.

Donnie Smith, David Tawzer, Darrel Harper, Richard Lupo, Stanley Williams and Jason Thorneberry served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Brogdon, Phillip Daniel, Michael Gray, Alan Avant, Joey Hall, Steve Lindsey and Phil "Tink" Lindsey.

Born April 30, 1921, in Irwin County, Mr. Griffin was the daughter of the late Enoch Pridgen and Narcissa McCook Pridgen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard W. Griffin, who passed away in 1999, as well as six brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing and cooking; and she was a member of Mount Paron Primitive Baptist Church in Berrien County.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, Tyrone Griffin, James and Jenny Griffin, Charles "Bago and Ann Marie Griffin and Wendell Griffin, all of Berrien County and Dale and Jennifer Griffin of Tifton; one sister, Dorothy Hogan of Fitzgerald; nine grandchildren, Julie Griffin, Michelle Avant, Chiarina Gray, Rebecca Williams, Max Griffin, Libby Sumner, Dixie Lupo, Anthony Griffin and Josh Griffin; and five great-grandchildren.
