Obituary

Clyde Griner, 70, of Tifton passed away Monday, December 6, 2004, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2004, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Edward Mimbs officiating. Mr. Griner was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.

Chris Bromlow, Kenneth Moore, Eddie Griner, Ronnie Griner, David Money and Roy Wilson served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Cox, Terry Danforth, Jerry Shiver, Johnny Jackson, Tony Barnes, Mike Dieas and Doc Griffin.

Born October 21, 1934, in Berrien County, Mr. Griner was the son of the late Roscoe Griner and Nettie Mae Davis Griner. He was self-employed; and he was the owner of Griner's Diesel Service, Inc. He was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church; and he had lived in Tift County for 35 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korian War; and he was a Mason and a Shriner.

Mr. Griner is survived by his wife, Betty Ruth Burns Griner of Tifton; one son, Duane Griner of Tifton; one daughter, Sharon Bromlow of Tifton; three brothers, Clebourne Griner of Tallahassee, Florida and Ronald Griner and Jackie Griner, both of Nashville; and three grandchildren, David Griner, Deidra Griner and Nikki Bromlow.
