Margaret L. Duff, 89, of Derry, NH died Sunday, July 9, 2006 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Home in Derry. Mrs. Duff was born on September 20, 1916 in Ellery, NY, a daughter of the late William and Genevieve (Frank) Williams. She had resided in Derry for the past year and a half, formerly living in Everett, WA. Mrs. Duff worked as a house parent in the Children’s Village in Dobbs Ferry, NY and was extremely dedicated to her job of working with disadvantaged children. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Duff attended Ithica College where she majored in theater, a life-long devotion. She also loved to travel, play golf and bridge, swim, and to sing and dance. She was a loving mother and family person.
Mrs. Duff is survived by her sons, Gregory Duff of Chelsea, MA and Robert Duff of Derry; her daughter, Penelope Johnstone of Everett, WA; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; her brother, Robert Williams of Durham, NC; four nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, William C. Duff, Jr.; her son, William C. Duff, III; and her brother, Ken Williams.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held in Sugar Grove, PA, where she grew up, at a later date.
