WORCESTER_ Olga T. (Byrdy) Skrzek, 86, formerly of Endicott St., died Saturday, July 8th, at Life Care Center of Auburn, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA. Her husband, Jozef Skrzek died in 1988. She leaves two sons, Michael W. Skrzek and Peter J. Skrzek and his wife Sandra of Worcester; three daughters, Mary A. Liberis and her husband Thomas of West Boylston, Sophie S. Skrzek of Worcester and Christine Hamilton and her husband William of Londonderry, NH; a brother, Pawel Cieslak of Poland, a nephew Wladislaw Kubica of Rutland; nine grandchildren, Brian and David Liberis, Amy, Joseph, Michael, Stephanie and Johnny Skrzek, Lisa and Tim Hamilton and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Skrzek was born in Szczyrk, Poland, the daughter of Jozef and Maria (Pilch) Byrdy. She retired in 1988 from St. Vincent Hospital where she worked in the housekeeping department and later with patient transport. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. Olga was an avid gardener. She especially enjoyed her grand children.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 12th from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czesochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, July 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, DAV Memorial Program, P.O.
