Marion Ruth Whitmarsh (née Budkus), 88, of Mansfield, MA, formally of Hyde Park and Norwood, passed away unexpectedly on February 14, 2024. Marion was born on January 5, 1936, to Henry Budkus and Stella McLean in Hyde Park.
Marion graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1953. She dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a nanny for multiple families after many years in the service industry. She was a loving caregiver to her husband, her aunt, uncle, family, and friends. Marion's kind and nurturing spirit touched the lives of many.
In her free time, Marion enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, shopping on QVC, being with her family, and cooking for her loved ones.
Marion is survived by her sister Dorothy Norton of Franklin, son James Meeker of Buzzards Bay (Louise), step-son Calvin Meeker of Florida, grandchildren Stephanie Whitehouse of Foxborough (Adam), Lindsay Sonis of Mansfield (Jeffrey), great-grandchildren Logan, Charlotte, Mason, Elianna, Reuben, and Julian, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother James Budkus, step-son Donald Meeker, and her husband Elliott Whitmarsh Jr.
Services will be private, and contributions in Marion's memory can be made to the MSPCA.
