Obituary

STEEP FALLS- Edith Naomi Mann Dunning, 98, resident of NHC Greenwood, former resident of Cross Hill, widower of Bernard Dunning, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024 Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont.

Born July 16, 1925, in Plainfield, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Cressman Mann. Mrs. Dunning attended Bible College in Nyack, NY where she met her husband, Bernard. In 1980, Edith and her husband, organized and pastored the International Alliance Church of Providence, Rhode Island made up largely of Cambodian refugees that had fled the war. Together they served as missionaries in Cambodia, Philippines, and pastored various churches in the US. After the death of her beloved husband in 2001, Mrs. Dunning moved to Greenwood from Rhode Island. After moving to Greenwood, she continued her ministry of encouragement by writing and sending daily devotionals to her many friends. She enjoyed teaching and playing piano, as well as working crossword puzzles.

Surviving are a son, Darrell Dunning (Angela) of Cross Hill; grandchildren, Jonathan Dunning (Crystal) of Henderson, NV, Tara Rhodes (Ben) of Cross Hill, and Heather Harvley (Sammy) of Greenwood; six great-grandchildren, Kadence Smith (Jonathan), Aiden Harvley, Ashland Harvley, all of Greenwood, Jameson Dunning, Lachlan Dunning, and Whitman Dunning, all of Henderson, NV; her sister, Marilyn Martin of Hoover, AL; and many nieces and nephews.



In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dunning was predeceased by a daughter, Pannaree Dunning; and brother, Elwood Mann (Elsie).

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Archie Moore officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 Tuesday afternoon.

Pallbearers will be Sammy Harvley, Ben Rhodes, Travis McCary, Bo McCary, Jonathan Smith, Randy Randall, Chip Rush and Aiden Harvley.



Burial will be held at a later date in Steep Falls, Maine.
