Obituary

On Saturday, February 10, 2024, Linda M. (Pina) Almeida took her last breath on this side of life. Upon following a lengthy illness, God graciously ever so gently in her sleep called, Linda Almeida, to her eternal life home from her resident home in Acushnet, Mass. She was 63 years old and the wife of Robert T. Almeida.

Linda was born in New Bedford, being the youngest, to the union of Mary Espinola and the late Franklin J. Pina.
As a daughter, she loved loyally.
As a sister, she loved unwaveringly.

She lived in New Bedford for most of her life where Linda developed great friendships. Her outgoing personality attributed to Linda being well known in the community; even joined The Toreadors Drum and Bugle Corp. of New Bedford, where she played the horn enthusiastically. In High School she was in ROTC as well before graduating from New Bedford High School.
As a teenager, she loved cheerfully.
As a friend, she loved appreciatively.

Linda went on to marry the love of her life in 1992, which blessed them to spend an additional 32 years together. "Bobby" and Linda were destined to be together, with the crush she had on him since she was twelve. They dated early on and inevitably found their way back to each other after Linda had a son, and Bobby had a daughter.
As a wife, she loved fiercely.
As a Mom, she loved passionately.

Linda was gainfully employed and fortunate to experience many different jobs over the years such as a Teacher's Aide, a Cafeteria Manager for a secondary school, a day care assistant for toddlers, just to name a few. She was formerly employed as a school bus monitor for Reliable Bus Lines, Inc. until her health kept her from returning.
As an employee, she loved generously.

Needless to say, Linda was a very social person and enjoyed going to dances, cookouts, and mostly spending time with her husband and family.
As an adult, she loved enjoyingly.
As a grandmother, she loved dotingly.

Linda Almeida treasured the dream her husband made come true for them in 2014 buying a house in Acushnet, Mass. making this their home until the present time.
As a homeowner, she loved successfully.

Last but not least, she had a relationship with The Lord our God in which brings us comfort to know she is resting in His tender loving arms.
As a believer, she loved faithfully.

Linda M. Almeida (Pina) is survived by her devoted husband, Robert; her mother, "Marie;" her son, Jeffrey Lopes; her stepdaughter, Sharlyne Silva; her only nephew, Tyree Almeida; and several grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored. In addition to a host of close relatives and dear friends.

Linda was predeceased by her twin sisters, Terry, and Gerry Pina.

Her visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2024, from 3:30-5:30pm in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford with a service held immediately following at 5:30pm. For directions and guestbook, visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
