THOMAS C. DEMBOSKY OBITUARY

Thomas Carl Dembosky, 73, of Hillsdale, PA, fell asleep in Jesus on Friday, February 9, 2024 at his home.

The son of Carl and Irene Betty (Risinger) Dembosky, he was born on March 11, 1950 in Indiana, PA.

Tom was a graduate of Indiana High School Class of 1968 and earned his B.A. degree in Political Science from IUP, where he was a member of the Pershing Rifles Military Fraternity and the ROTC. Upon graduation, he was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant and served statewide in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

On January 14, 1973, he married Edna M. Kidd. They shared over fifty-one years of marriage together.

He was a member of the East Mahoning Baptist Church in Purchase Line, PA.

After his discharge from the Army, Tom worked at the Indiana Job Center from 1975 until his retirement in 2007.

Along with his wife Edna, Tom was a co-owner of Kidd’s Orchard in Hillsdale, PA. He greatly enjoyed sharing apples with his family, friends, community centers and food distribution programs. Tom was actively involved with the Food Bank in Hastings, PA.

A longtime member of the Chetremon Golf Club, Tom enjoyed golfing every day of the week that ended in “y.”

Some of Tom’s favorite pastimes were bowling, traveling, cruising, eating ice cream, walking his dogs and taking his grandchildren on tractor rides and fishing with them.

Tom is survived by his wife Edna, his daughter: Annelisa “Annie” Gallardo and husband Wilmer, his four grandchildren: Adler, Lily, Logan and Warner; his former son-in-law, Mike Nixon, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Barbara Dembosky and his sister, Debra Bloomquist.

There will be a gathering from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where an 11:00 a.m. memorial service will be held on Friday immediately following the gathering. Pastor Scott Sauers will officiate. Military Honors will be observed by the US Army and Clymer American Legion. Interment will take place at East Mahoning Cemetery in Purchase Line, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hastings Food Bank or the Chevy Chase Community Center’s Meal Program.
