Obituary

Leroy Franklin "Dump" Little, Sr., also known as “Dump”, 93, of Enigma passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Walter Powell officiating. Mr. Little will be laid to rest at Enigma Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The family will be gathering at Mr. Little’s home, 726 Main Street, Enigma, Georgia.

Mr. Little’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Born November 18, 1930, in Enigma, Mr. Little was the son of the late Cecil Carson Little and Nora Lee West Little. He was also preceded in death by his first wife and mother of their five children, Joyce Little, whom he married on April 17, 1949; his second wife, Jo Beth Little, whom he married on December 12, 1998; a grandson, Rodney Franklin “Lil Roddy” Little, II; a daughter-in-law, Donna Little; two granddaughters, Alisha Little and Donna Nicole Little; a great-granddaughter, Macy Barrentine; along with six brothers; and three sisters.

Before retiring, Mr. Little worked with Independent Life Insurance Company for 46 years. He was a member of Enigma Community Church, where he served as the song leader for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Enigma Men’s Club; and he was a volunteer for Hospice of Tift Area for 20 years.

He was a dedicated family man and he was always there when he was needed. No man is perfect, but he was as close to a perfect daddy (Dump) as any man could be.

He was a devout Christian, he loved the Lord and his church family.

Mr. Little is survived by five children and their spouses; Donna (Wayne) Barrentine, David Little, Roddy (Pam) Little, Sherri (Kevin) Ray, and Leroy Franklin “Lee” Little, Jr. (Tammy); nine grandchildren, Chad Barrentine (Michelle), Brad (Amanda) Barrentine, Jeremy Little, Lee Little, Amanda (John Lee) Barfield, John Ray, Keri Ray, Jessi (Brandon) Holley, and Logan Little; ten great-grandchildren, Abby Barrentine, Taylor Barrentine, Savanna (Isaac) Smith, Nathan Little, Alivia Watson, Anslee Barfield, Carson Barfield, Adalee Barfield, Athens Holley, and Chapel Holley; and one great-great granddaughter, Lyla Grayce Smith.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to his private caregivers, Vanterry and Nancy Joseph; Hospice of Tift Area; Palliative Care; and Amedysis.
