Mary McAllister Ford, 74, of Tifton passed away Sunday, December 26, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Glenn Ford and the Rev. Gerald Purvis officiating. Mrs. Ford was laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton.
Raymond Galm, Keith Ford, Jonathan Davis, Kevin Ford, Jason Ford and Calvin Smith served as pallbearers.
Born September 19, 1930, in Tift County, Mrs. Ford was the daughter of the late James Caulie McAllister and Erma Bowen McAllister. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Otis McAllister, John Henry McAllister and Samuel Myers McAllister; and one sister, Erma Jean Yarbrough. She had been employed as a medical secretary and as a homemaker for the last 30 years and assisting her husband in the family business, Ford Appliance in Tifton.
Mrs. Ford is survived by her husband, John Henry Ford of Tifton, who she married on June 18, 1948; two sons and daughter-in-law, Rev. Glenn and Sheryl Ford of Tifton and John M. and Kathy Ford of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters and one son-in-law, Shirley and A. I. Abdulhadi of Alpharetta and Mary Galm of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Carl Franklin and Rosie McAllister of Tifton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty Sue and Wade Rainey of Ideal and Frances Marie McBrayer of Tifton; and eight grandchildren.
