Stephen Clarence Flowers, Sr., 54, of Tifton passed away Monday, October 18, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at Tifton's First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe, the Rev. Jerry Lillard and the Rev. Larry Layfield officiating. Mr. Flowers was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Beau Flowers, John Peters, Butch Coarsey, Van Graves, Johnny Marchant, Ed Green, Roy Jones, Dan Barry, Johnny Veazey and Chris Goodman served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Emerson Hoffman, Paul Kulbersh, Alan Johnson, Mike Bostick, Ed Walker, Bill Brim, Kenny Sirmans, Charlie Majeski, Randy Dunn, Mills Cottle and Larry Jones.
Born June 2, 1950, in Tift County, Mr. Flowers was the son of the late Dr. Eugene M. Flowers and Josephine Baxter Flowers. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Eugene "Buck" Flowers, Jr. He was a retired farmer and an agricultural businessman; and he was a member of Tifton's First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Flowers is survived by his wife, Theodosia Williams Flowers of Tifton; two sons, Steven "Will" Flowers, Jr. and Russ Elliot Flowers, both of Tifton; one sister, Debbie Flowers Peters of Moultrie; and two grandsons, Walker Eugene Flowers and Hudson Davis Flowers.
