Obituary

LOWELL—Cecile (Brousseau) Hamelin, 93 years old, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section of Lowell, died Friday July 7th, at the Willow Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Eugene H. Hamelin, who died in February of 1992.

She was born in Coventry, RI, on June 19, 1913, a daughter of the late Arthur and Cecilia (Lavallee) Brousseau, and was a graduate of Coventry, RI, Public Schools. In 1938, she married her husband Eugene and moved to Lowell. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.

Surviving her are two daughters: Pauline G. Hamelin; and Lucille McCabe; both of Lowell; six sons and daughters-in-law: Paul A. and Joyce Hamelin, of Tyngsboro; Richard J. and Roberta ‘Peany’ Hamelin, of Dracut; Robert F. and Donna Hamelin, of Kentucky; Raymond E. and Cheryl Hamelin, of Lowell; Roland A. and Deborah Hamelin, of Dracut; and Joseph P. and Mary Hamelin, of Groton; also 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

She was the mother-in-law of the late Michael McCabe.

Friends may call on Monday, July 10th, from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to follow at 11 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
