Nydia E. (Hernandez) Davila, age 77, passed away on February 3, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born on May 5, 1946 in Salinas, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Angel and Filomena (Pagan) Hernandez. Nydia worked as a seamstress for many years before she retired. She is survived by her sons Victor Davila of Chicopee, Abraham Davila of Chicopee and Adam Pichirilo of New York; her daughters, Nydia Davila of Chicopee, Michelle Urena and her husband Enrique of Chicopee and Melba Jimenez of Indian Orchard; her brother Edwin Martinez of Chicopee; her sister Maria Martinez of Holyoke; 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is predeceased by her son Adam Davila and also by 3 sisters. Calling hours will be held at the United Congregational Church, 300 Appleton St, Holyoke, on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 PM. A Prayer Service will be held at 4:00 PM in the church. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery.
