Delmar Dixon, 91, of Tifton passed away Friday, December 31, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Ronny Vice officiating. Mr. Dixon was laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardnes.
Mr. Dixon's grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
Born August 27, 1913, in Murray County, Mr. Dixon was the son of the late Luther Dixon and Minnie Howell Dixon. He was a retired farmer; and he was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Tifton. He was also a United States Army veteran; and he served in World War II.
Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Annie Laura James Dixon of Tifton; one son, Allen Wayne Croft of Tifton; two daughters, Rose Marie Fincher of Tifton and Irene Janice Rudeseal of Texas; one brother, Edward Dixon of Omega; three sisters, Gladys Gunn of Utah, Ruth Wolf-Dixon of Florida and Blanche Norman of Omega; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
