Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Earl W. Conrad, Jr. age 67, a resident of Tewksbury for 2 years, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
He was the husband of Barbara (Gulajska) Conrad, with whom he would have celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary on September 29th.
Born in Stoneham on November 24, 1938, he was the son of the late Earl W. Conrad, Sr. and Catherine A. (Blanchard) Conrad.
Mr. Conrad was raised in Malden.
He attended Malden schools and graduated from Malden High School in 1957.
Mr. Conrad attended Bentley College School of Accounting and Finance graduating in 1959.
In 1961, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged from active duty on December 5, 1963, having earned the rank of SP-4.
Prior to his retirement in 2002, he was employed as Director of Revenue Accounting by the B&M Railroad Company (Pan Am Railway) of North Billerica, where he worked for 30 years.
Mr. Conrad resided most of his life in Malden. In 1993, he moved to Salem, New Hampshire, where he lived until moving to Tewksbury in 2004.
He enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, boating, reading and driving his car.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter; Jacqueline Ann (Conrad) Harnois and her husband Richard of Salem, NH; two grandchildren; Regan M. and Catherine R. Harnois both of Salem, NH; two brothers; James F. Conrad and his wife Dolores of Reading and Robert A. Conrad and his wife Jean of Melrose; a sister-in-law; Diane Wain of Salem, NH; five nieces, two nephews, three grandnieces and one grandnephew.
Calling hours Monday, July 10th, 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral will be held Tuesday, July 11th at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Massachusetts General Hospital Diabetes Research Fund, c/o Dr. David Nathan, 50 Staniford St., # 340, Boston, MA 02114 are requested.
