Violet Catherine Lucia, age 97, of Medford passed away on Saturday, February 3rd, at Care Dimensions Hospice House of Lincoln. Born in Yatesville, Pennsylvania, she was raised and educated in Medford, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Rose (Scaramella) Lucia. Violet worked for many years for John Hancock Insurance. Family was the most important thing in her life and everybody called Violet “Auntie.” She never forgat a birthday, and was there for everybody’s special occasions.
Violet was the dear sister of the late Anthony F. and Michael A. Lucia, and the loving aunt of Patrick Lucia and his late wife Susan, Linda Napolitano and her husband John, Michael Lucia, and the late Loretta Patrie, Anthony Lucia and his surviving wife Judy. She was the great aunt of Stephen and David Napolitano, Christopher, Jeffrey and Rebecca Lucia, Jonathan, Matthew and Mark Lucia, Robert and Steven Patrie, Laurie Cooley, Ashley Jennings and Brent Lucia, and the late John Patrie. Violet was the great great aunt of Ava, Charlotte and Brooke, and is also survived by many loving cousins and family members.
A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, on Friday, February 9th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford from 10 through 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
