Obituary

HOLYOKE - Aileen "Tina" Cruz, 61, of Holyoke, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, February 1, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in the Bronx, New York on April 13, 1962, a beloved daughter of the late Ismael Cruz and Delia (Morales) Arroyo. She was raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York and had moved to Holyoke in 1994. She was employed as a self-employed Certified Accountant for many years. She loved dancing, traveling and had an extensive collection of dragons. Most of all, she will be remembered for being a "live wire" and “the life of the party”. She leaves her three loving and devoted children, Jerry L. Rivera and his wife, Zandra, of Springfield, Trisha A. Cruz and her husband, George Gonzalez, of West Springfield, and Hector G. Martinez of Holyoke; her six cherished grandchildren, Izayah, Elyjah, Delylah, Ariana, Joseph and Giannalise; her two dear brothers, Anthony Arroyo and his wife, Jenicia, of Springfield and Irving Cruz and his wife, Nilda, of Florida; her three dear sisters, Francine Hernandez of Springfield, Shirley Cruz and her partner, Antonio Arocho, of New York and Debbie Alicea of Connecticut; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ismael Cruz; and her step-father, Raul Arroyo who was Called Home on January 13, 2024. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 beginning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10 a.m. Her burial will follow the service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
