Obituary

WORCESTER___Dorothy T. (Lojko) Gargolinski, 85, of Worcester, died peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Her husband, Kenneth R. Gargolinski, died in 1978. She is survived by daughters Jennifer G. Cederberg of Framingham and Stephanie A. Pirthiani and husband Mahesh K. of CT., grandchildren, Alexander K. Cederberg and fiancée Zenyah L. Figueroa of Charlton, Dr. Jack A. Cederberg of Baton Rouge, LA, and Sally C. Cederberg, MSW, of Ann Arbor, MI. Her brother Raymond P. Lojko predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Adolph P. and Sally C. (Bien) Lojko.

Dottie worked as a Unit Secretary for over twenty-six years at UMass Memorial Medical Center. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School. After retiring, Dottie spent countless hours volunteering in the UMass Pediatric Unit, the Auburn Senior Center, and Jeremiah’s Inn. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, the Auburn Women’s Club, and the Red Hats Society. Notably proud of her family, she would endlessly share stories of their many accomplishments to all she encountered. Dottie was extremely proud of her Polish heritage.

The family wishes to thank the outstanding care providers at Sterling Village and Trinity Hospice, and UMass Memorial’s Orthopedic Surgery and Vascular Surgery Departments including Dr. Heather Gallo.

Calling hours for Dottie will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., Worcester, MA 01610. Dottie did not like flowers: therefore, her family respectfully requests to omit them and in lieu, honor her spirit of volunteerism by sending a donation to Jeremiah’s Inn, P.O.
