He transitioned to the United States Postal Service (USPS) for the remainder of his career. Peter lived in Franklin with his family for many years until he and Joan moved to Florida to enjoy their retirement.

Peter was an avid golfer and a member of the Franklin Country Club for 40 years. He accomplished 4 holes in one, always striving to attain the 5th to beat the family record. Peter was recognized and celebrated for his lifetime accomplishments on and off the course by members of the Fox Hollow Country Club, where he was a member for more than 20 years.
