Mary Harden Cox, 83, of Tifton passed away Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2004, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Mrs. Cox was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Jimmy Nelson, John Nelson, Greg Nelson, Johnny Sumner, Mitch Williams, Robert Nelson, Bob Richbourg, Bruce Donaldson and Joe Echols served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Guy Blasingame, Walter Strange, Bo Wright, Dean Hilliard, David Hilliard and R. B. Delk.
Born June 26, 1921, in Ashburn (Turner County), Mrs. Cox was the daughter of the late Laurel Harden and Estelle Conoly Harden. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Anderson "Moose" Cox. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cox is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Mary Ann Cox of Tifton; two daughters, Anne Cox Little and Cindy Cox Wiley, both of Tifton; two sisters, Eudora nelson of Atlantic Beach, Florida and Margaret Scheid of Palatka, Florida; and four grandchildren.
