Bernice Brownlee Lane Williams, 91, of Fitzgerald passed away Saturday, January 29, 2005, at Life Care in Fitzgerald. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2005, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Lee McMath and the Rev. Marshall Kennedy officiating. Mrs. Williams was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Tony Herlovich, David Herlovich, Christian Glisson, Ronald Brownlee, Dennis Brownlee and Phil Herlovich served as pallbearers. Carl McMath served as an honorary pallbearer.
Born October 9, 1913, in Tift County, Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late Durwood Brownlee and Minnie Bell Allen Brownlee. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin L. Lane; her second husband, John L. Williams; one daughter; one sister; and two brothers. She was a Stanley dealer for years; and she was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Tifton. She had lived most of her life in Tift County.
Mrs. Williams is survived by one son, William Leroy Lane of Tifton; two daughters, Judith Lane Hammond of Camden, South Carolina and Geraldine Lane Herlovich of Fitzgerald; one sister, Ethel Brownlee of Moultrie; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
