Laverne Norman Welch, 74, of Tifton passed away Friday, May 6, 2005, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Enigma with the Rev. Jim Williams and the Rev. Leonard Conger officiating. Mrs. Welch was laid to rest at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Enigma.
Sammy Rogers, Charles Rogers, Steve Tyson, Jerry Johns, Chad Pipkin and Shawn Pipkin served as pallbearers.
Born September 6, 1930, in Tift County, Mrs. Welch was the daughter of the late J. T. Norman and Alberta Thrift Norman. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Enigma.
Mrs. Welch is survived by her husband, Robert Welch of Tifton; two sons, Bobby Welch and Johnny Welch, both of Tifton; three brothers, Jim Norman and Bill Norman, both of Berrien County and Jr. Norman of South Carolina; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
